Why do we think it's a real vehicle and not an original photo altered? There have been no spy shots or test vehicles with the camo but this just appears out of nowhere which looks like a X2 from the front and something else in the rear.
And while some of Scott's information should be taken with a grain of salt, if he says the 3.0 CSL Hommage is the base of the G42 2er, I don't see why we wouldn't believe that since it has design elements that we're seeing with GXX BMW's -- headlights, vertical styled grilles, etc. This "spy shot" looks like a coupe version of the X2 which I doubt BMW is going to use, it's a 2017 design which BMW is going to extend another 7 years from when the G42 is released? Don't buy it.
If someone told me this was going to be the X2 LCI, I would believe that more than this being called the G42.
