I am very new to this and have no idea how to get it going.

My wife and I recently talked and brainstormed and figured out a product. Let's just say it's something that will help parents to NOT forget that they have a baby at the back seat. I don't recall seeing this in the market yet.

How do I start? Draw prototypes? I work in healthcare and absolutely have no idea how to make a prototype or make something out of nothing. I googled and read that this is the first step. Can anybody please point me to the right direction, any tips/advice? Sites where i can find more useful info would be great.
