Wrong, there is a right way of doing things as mentioned above already. People don't tint their lights to dim their light output; They do it for a darker housing look. The reduction in light output is just the consequence of tinting. The right way of doing things would be to open the headlights up and painting it so the light output isn't affected, unless the intent was to change the color of the light (ex. yellow) to begin with.
