I'd seriously explore your options to get this done by a pro, unless you really have some experience replacing hoods. It has been a few decades for me, but there were few jobs as fussy, and needing about 6 pairs of hands at times. Bolting it up isn't the problem, it is getting it aligned in about 17 different planes of movement/panel fit. And that is where you'll discover if s/t else really did get dinged, when it won't line up (likely).
