are you going to swap the tires off the rims or get a dedicated set for winters (that would be preferred)?
If the latter so you can keep it simple by going square, and 17 or 18" is up to you. If you have lots of snow then stick to 17, but if its just really cold and not much snow then if you like the way the 18's ride, then bobs your uncle (just larger the wheel larger the cost).
