They won't catastrophically fail like your charge pipe but they do wear out. I ordered a set of Bilstein B6 Performance DampTronic Strut but no one says they have them in stock and delivery is slated for DECEMBER from BimmerWorld. So much for a nice weather install.

Bilstein are nice, I saw one guy on this forum recently who was using Koni yellows. They seem to work well for him. I figured it would be between those or full on coils for me.
