For the same reason people buy fake Rolexes. They want the ego trip without paying stupid money. I've often wondered how much hypocrisy there is between people that are in both this thread and the "what are you wearing on your wrist" thread. LOL
Personally, I'm much more likely to de-badge an up spec car like our M50i because it's no ones business how much I paid for an X5. |
I wouldn't debadge it. I love seeing legit bmw models and knowing some push more power then others. I love my 2021 540 and would never want others to think it was a 530. Not hating on 530s at all but just saying. When I see a nice looking 550 or m5 it puts a smile on my face.
So if you have the X5 50i I would leave as is. It's nice looking and fast and earned its respect.
