On Driving 130 or 155mph
I find the responses about driving at that speed interesting, especially coming from people who own a high performance car.
I grew up in Germany and driving 130mph is no big deal if you have that kind of car, but here people seem to think is outrageous or totally dangerous.

I regularly take road trips to Nevada, Arizona, Utah and if you go on the secondary or tertiary roads there is hardly any traffic, often the road surface is quite good and the M240 does 130mph with total ease and it is not dangerous at all, the car is build for that. When I picked up the 2019 car from the dealership I drove on one of those roads. This one was recently resurfaced and was in perfect condition, 2 to 3 lanes, just before sundown, hardly any cars and I hit 140mph just to make sure.... what was the Mastercard ad "It's priceless".... lol

The sale person & Dealership
- He sold me a car that didn't do what he said it would do, as simple as that.
It's about nothing else. Had he told me the correct information I would
have had a choice, by telling me the wrong information he took that choice
away from me. To me it is completely ridiculous to by an new car that has
105 more HP than my 10 year old 128 and doesn't drive as fast. I would
never have bought the car knowing it is limited to 130mph.... that's it.

- And at the same time "Yes", it's my responsibility to make sure and that
situation was an example were circumstances put me into a position which
is the worst to make a transaction like that... having (seemingly) no choice
and and no time (had to pick up my girlfriend from Flagstaff airport the
next day).... but I could have gotten a rental car instead...
If you grew up in Germany and spent lots of time driving in Germany, you would immediately know what the differences between US and Germany are. Secondly, even in Germany you aren't doing 155mph everywhere, its only on some stretches of the autobahn. And the roads there are so much better than ours. Especially in California, we have some shitty shitty pothole ridden roads. Even our freeways have cracks, holes, uneven sections. And this isn't the most dangerous part even, its the other drivers.

I gave you a pretty good example of why other vehicles on the road can be a huge hazard, especially because they aren't used to cars travelling at this speed. Driver's training in Germany is also significantly more thorough and expensive than it is here. Last I recall it was something like 1800 euros, and you actually have to attend classes. In the US, all you need is $25 a quick written test, and here you go, provisional license until you can take your 10minute behind the wheel test.

And like I said, I have certainly driven fast on the roads here, 100+ but going 100mph and going 150mph on a public road in the US are vastly different experiences.

I used to live in Hanover, my ex gf and I would regularly drive to Berlin to visit her sister, I had no qualms pegging cars to 240+ km/h. Roads are smooth as glass, and other drivers aren't complete fucking morons.

That is not the case stateside, especially in California. Roads are garbage, and you can safely assume most drivers on the road are too busy jerking off on their phone, or eating, or yelling at their kids, or doing something other than paying attention.
