I keep it under 4k rpm and take it easy on the boost until the oil is hot. That is all. After that, wring it out. I won't hold it above ~2k rpm unless I'm accelerating and planning to shift soon. Cruising speed = ~2k rpm, depending on what type of road I'm on. I don't know what it's like to drive a manual and shift early for better mpg.
