I want to hit 284 mph in 6th! Is 10,000 RPM over the red-line? Haha
I turned off the shift indicator (glad this is an option in the 240 as it wasn't in my '15 235i). It's set for best MPG so its always going to tell you to shift before you really need to. Trying to eek out the best MPG is fine for some but I bought this car to have fun so I really shift by feel, usually around 3500 RPM. I tend to use the lower gear if I'm in between as I hate the feeling when the engine is bogged down.
