UPDATE: I just ran a square set up at the driving school yesterday and everything was fine. I purchased 18x8" 42 offset wheels and ran 245/35/18 Michelin PSS. Everything worked fine, no rubbing and the square set up had less understeer than the staggered. I do not recommend the PSS for the track, but am using because they were my original street tires and didn't want to throw them away. When these are gone I am replacing them with a Street/Track performance tire from Hankook, Toyo or Bridgestone.
