And the flip side of that: many LEOs will likely stop using radar altogether in favor of either lidar (laser), remote traps (i.e. speed cameras), or good ol' fashioned pacing. That will make detectors even less worthwhile to use.
Remember that a LEO can't clock you unless he has clear line of sight and clear air. Neither radar or laser works in rain or mist, through foilage, or in relatively heavy traffic. (Another tip: follow a speeding car. LEO can't tag you if you're behind someone else -- and you'll save gas!
