Does anyone know if there any implications for removing this insulator under the hood? I noticed all the M cars don't have it, but non-M cars do. I want to remove it to hear a little more engine upfront, but don't want to remove it if there will be any issues. I could be wrong, but I believe BMW added these to the non-M cars to reduce cabin noise.

Appreciate any input!
