Found my own answer on YouTube. The first clip was the BMW Genius How-To. It showed a setting under My Vehicle/Doors. I think I looked there before and found nothing.
The second clip showed how holding the lock button down rather than simply pressing it will retract the mirrors. The guy said BMW doesn’t code it in bc in freezing weather the mirrors could ice up and be damaged.
