Yes that seems to be the easiest way to get the required ball studs as they are included with the M3/M4 regulating rod. As the HP Autosport guys pointed out, that way you can use the stock F3x plastic rod and attach it to the M3/M4 control arm which appears to be close enough in length that it should work fine.
