I don't know what that involves, but I know what I do. I build window house packets to be ordered. That's my "official" thing I do. Now I build all the house packets. Like the quotes, the orders, the does this work, etc etc etc. I also am responsible for inputting service requests into the system, printing off the requests for the receivers when they arrive. This involves going through multiple lists, locating the order in the system, and printing and delivering the paperwork to the service department. I also am in charge of scrubbing the invoices for charges that we do not pay. This can be PDF files +100 pages long. I also created an excel file that is updated (by me) weekly of the company statements and have to scrub through this too. I create and send out weekly salesperson cost analysis reports weekly as well. And I create a weekly delivery schedule for incoming shipments.

Now this got me thinking.....is this a normal data entry job anymore? I was once called an "ordering specialist" by the boss.
The role is whatever your company decides to call it. We have a very similar sounding position at my company. The folks who are in it are called "Project Coordinators." We would not attract the kind of people we do in the recruiting process if we posted ads for "Data Entry Clerk." You might stand a chance of getting your company to change the position title if you can appeal to their ability to attract and retain better talent if they title the role differently. When I hear "Date Entry Clerk" I'm picturing an entry level accounting department position for someone with a highschool or associates degree.
