We almost always use automatic car washes for all our cars. AFAIK, no one in their right mind ever uses a power washer on cars.
There should be no reason to baby a fairly new modern car, especially when it comes to washing.
THIS SORT OF THING SHOULD NOT HAPPEN.
The dealer know it and I am sure that they will make good.
