I had a 228i not to long ago as a loaner car.. Right off the parking lot, I did notice it gets surprisingly loud inside the cabin, when you step on it in sports mode; as it holds the revs long enough to squeeze the power out of each gear.. And as far as I know, the 228i does not have Active Sound only the 235i.. There must be some logical reason BMW did not include these seals in the 235is, other than than cost cutting or just to screw with us. My guess is engine intake noise, since with the wind noise is still very much present with the weatherstripping installed in 235i.
