I've had a few droptops and always parked them outside. Only issues with parking outside IMO:

-cats want to sleep on warm black cloth tops a lot, their claws are terrible for the top and terrible for your paint when they jump on and off the car
-if you park near a tree you will clog up drains over time no matter how well you try and keep it clean
-if you dont drive in the winter and get a lot of snow you'll need to clear off snow buildup asap because the weight on the top is more than you think

Cheap tops will fade in extra sun exposure, happened to my older cars. I'm assuming that wont be a problem with my 2017 BMW but I've only had it a few years so knock on wood.
