I'm not exactly sure what happens, but I think that "doing things in the wrong order" can lead to this behaviour...

What works for me to fix it once it happend:

Close all doors and move the seat forward a bit manually. Then press the memory 1 button to get back to your normal seating position.

Turn off ignition, open door and seat moves back again as it should. Give it a try.
