Here's a little history of my motorsport attendance....

Riverside International Raceway:

From the late 60's through the mid 70's....I saw SCCA Group 7 Can Am cars with Denny Hulme, Bruce McLaren, Peter Revson; The International Race of Champions, NASCAR cars on the road course, etc.

Ontario Motor Speedway:

----
Attended the inaugural California 500 Indy Car race in 1970; it was "Indy West" meaning it was an exact replica of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway; attended NASCAR on the 2.5 mile oval.

Laguna Seca Raceway:

Early to mid 90's....I was THE most incredible FIM GP bikes in the world....500 cc 2 stroke machines that were ROCKETS....Wayne Rainey on the Marlboro Roberts Yamaha....Mick Doohan on the Rothmans Honda....Kevin Schwantz on the Lucky Strike Suzuki....they would achieve nearly 190 mph on the uphill back-straight before braking for the world famous Corkscrew turn; went to multiple CART Indy Car races here as well
The Laguna Seca track is more known to me and talking about bikes I love reading up on and watching vids of those 500cc 2 stroke bike battles. What sticks most in me tho is the mid 70's battles and Barry Sheene's high speed accident at Daytona which allowed Agostini to take the title that year.
Contrary to popular belief that a puncture caused Sheene's accident it was actually the rear tyre expanding and was locked by the swing arm.He recovered and became champ in 76-77 then 'King' Kenny Roberts got it in '78.
Sheens's career ended after another serious bike crash in '82 which broke up his legs again.I've read his biography.
