The M2 is so much of an unknown now. It has to sit somewhere between the 322 HP of the M235i and the 420+ (I can't remember the right number0 of the upcoming M3/M4. I suppose it is possible to squeeze around 370 horses out of a well pressurized two liter 4 pot, build the rest of the car light with carbon fiber and and aluminum body parts and wind up with something really interesting. With a i6 in an m235i the M2 must have a i6, don't you think? And the CLA 45 created the most powerful 4 with 355 hp i really dont think BMW will go for a 4 just to beat that record for the M2. |
I'm going to guess that the M2 will focus primarily on efficient dynamics.
So lighter weight, lighter engine, but with good power figures. A 4 cylinder M car would make an awesome addition and be a hell of a car that a lot of enthusiasts would be waiting for
