A 8.4@83mph in the 1/8 mile equates to around a 13.1@105mph in the 1/4 mile. Your car is running just as it should. Your 60 foots are quite good for 225 width street tires. Nice job.
FYI, CA tracks are not known for kicking out great times. If you were to run your car at a track in the Northeast such as Atco or Englishtown, you'd like be going 12.9@108mph+. Some tracks are just quicker and more "favorable" than others.
