I bought a 2018 M2 with MPE and 6MT, and I didn’t like it. So I gave to my son and took his 335is. Now I am thinking about trading in the 335 for a M240. The reason for my dislike of the M2: sounds awful (inside while driving), MPG is poor, seating position is uncomfortable. I had the opportunity to drive the M240 for few days a year ago and it felt like a great car, quieter and better MPG. I was just wondering what previous M2 owner thought of the long term ownership of M240.

MPGs shouldn't be measurably different if you're looking at the 6MT M240. Maybe 1mpg..maybe.
The 2016-2018 M2s have the same exact seats as the M240.
The MPE on the M2 was much of the reason why your M2 was loud. The non-MPE equipped M2 is a bit quieter. The M240 without the MPE will be slightly quieter in terms of exhaust noise.
The M240 has a softer suspension and narrower tires and wheels which makes it ride softer and reduces noise. The lack of solid rear subframe bushings in the M240 will also reduce noise slightly.
