Mine was worn in less than a year, I think from rivets on jeans and a tight garage; at home I can only open it to the first detent. I've started using seat position 2 for exit and entry, and that seems to have stalled out further wear. Still, pretty wimpy material compared to prior cars.
I spent 2 months of this year on crutches; getting out of the car on a bum knee while sparing the bolster took some serious contortion and gave me an elbow tendonitis.
