Each driver have different steering wheel grip position during track driving.
Some shuffle, some don't, that's when an extended paddle is needed.
Of course for daily driving, we don't even need to use a paddle shifter for an automatic transmission.
I'll be the one who disagrees with that, as of yet I can't think of anytime I have driven my car in full auto...I live by the paddles!

Regardless, I will say that these paddles just don't seem to "fit" the car. I'm sure they are functional, but they just look wrong.
