F22 - Long term reliability

Hi guys,

i just got my e92 325i back from a vanos solenoid replacement that sprung out of the blue, making it the third trip this year to my mechanic for various issues. Granted, the car is officially turning 12 this year with 148k kms on the clock, i'm strongly considering trading it in a for a 2. i'm still weighing my options between a MY15+ 220i or a MY14 m235i as i want those xenon headlights, none of that nasty yellow halogen bulbs.

I think it's a widely known fact BMWs are engineered to fail past a certain 'use by' date, but i'd hate to throw a wide blanket on the the 2s as well as i've only heard glowing reviews on the drive and reliability so far.

Has anyone driven the car past 100,000kms in Aussie road conditions care to comment on the car's performance and reliability into the 6 digit mileage zone?

Thanks in advance!
