Apple is by far the best at supporting old hardware in that entire industry. I have Google Pixel 3 XLs that aren't that old and are no longer supported. Apple goes back at least 2 years longer than everyone else. Qualcomm won't update proprietary blobs for some SoCs after a few years which means any phone using their stuff will cease to get any kernel updates.
