Thought I'd post a small update here. After a couple months I've decided that I can't live with the cold start. I noticed I was beginning to dread firing up the car both on my driveway and when I was out and about, it just sounded too terrible.
I considered going back to the stock down pipe or buying the resonated mid pipe but went the other way instead - swapped the JB4 out for BM3. No more cold start and I'm so much happier, should have just gone this way on day 1. Only reason I didn't was warranty but I've come to the conclusion that if something catastrophic happens BMW will certainly know the JB4 was installed, so why not go the (in my opinion) better route and flash?
