I just took my 2014 M235i in to BMW of Dallas... was having extreme notchiness and grinding mainly downshifting from 3rd to 2nd. Sometimes a downshift wouldn't grind, but it wouldn't go into gear without putting a lot of extra pressure on the shifter. Classic BMW couldn't repro the issue, so I took it to BMW of Dallas and they are in the process of replacing my transmission. Car has 75k on it, but I have a 7yr/100k extended warranty on it. Win!
