There have been numerous threads here comparing the two cars. Surprisingly there is a lot of cross shopping between the two.
I have first hand experience. Went from a 228i to a 991.2 911.
Let me give you a metaphorical impression: having the 911 is like having a supermodel girlfriend. Everybody will look at you with envy. You will be the most popular kid in town. Sex is great. Everything is great until she starts shopping with your credit card. She only likes high end stuff.
Tires come in weird sizes that somehow end up costing 2x the price of the others. Dealership will charge you $400 for an oil change. Sure you can do it yourself but you need to buy the special tools and the device to reset the counter. I had a simple fuel pressure sensor replaced under warranty, it cost me $0, but I saw what the dealership charged Porsche NA and it was close to $3000. It's going to be an expensive ride in the long run so be prepared for that.
