In my younger days I did an extensive survival training here and I learned to respect the forest. During some deep canyoning I even freaked out. It took the guides an hour to get me to the surface. I was literally frozen in a pitch-black underground tunnel with an only max. 3 feet high ceiling.
It was a good humbling experience for my big ego though.

I even drive to the "Lake of Bütgenbach" just for swim in a hot summer day !
You should go for it as well , but just be 'very carefull It's big ,very deep and cold .
You must be a good swimmer ! But everytime after a swim in the lake it feels like I'm reborn ...

Too bad , pity ! Last year it was a no-go with the COVID pandemic and now with the floodings It's even worse .
