Yes, the speaker from has to make a seal at the door frame/metal. This acoustically isolates the front of the speaker from the rear of the speaker. Doing so ensures that the speaker more faithfully reproduces the audio signal. This is especially critical for sub woofer, wooers and mid-range speakers.
