The NEXT gen 2 series may share the next gen 1 series underpinnings. That was the poster's point. We know this 2 series is RWD, the question mark hangs over the future (as it does with just about everything if we want to be logical about it).
I would keep it all RWD if it were me, but it ain't my choice. Just hope that 4wd is offered on those poor models that get crippled by BMW's cost saving move to FWD.
