It's not that it's too small. It's comparable to any of the other intercoolers out on the market for street and occasional track use.
There are draw backs to going with the larger intercooler. Weight and increased turbo lag being the main negatives.
If you plan on staying on the stock turbo and it's more of a street car the v1 intercooler will be fine.
