If it happens and if BMW decides to do it right, without considering market overlap, what it would do to M4 sales etc., which for me also means that if it mixes the best attributes of 1M and M235i, that M2 can be better than both and a very attractive small M car indeed.
This is my hopeful side, a bit day dreaming a M2 CSL too; my practical side tells me that after all these strong numbers (including a price ready to fly away with options), accessories, M Perf. parts etc. there may be a slimmer chance of seeing one

i agree with you in parts.... the performance of the m235 sounds really impressive and if you take into account the M performance parts BMW is promising, it will definitely take to the next level. However, having said that, the more i think, for the good or bad, i believe they could come up with a limited production M2 car, similar to what they did to the 1M, a limited production car that will just enhance the performance of the m235 after all the m parts. that would be a way to create something very special without compromising the sales of the m3/m4
