Hey guys,

Sorry for the slow response.

The 17x8.5 ET40 is a pretty rare fitment for us on the 2 series, but we have seen it become more popular recently. It's not currently listed on our recommended fitments section for this chassis yet but I may add it in the future. You can run 245/40-17 tires on this setup without rubbing with stock suspension without spacers from what we've seen on Jake's car. If you are wanting to run coilovers, you may need to run a spacer and some negative camber in the front to get everything to clear depending on the coilover/spring design (avoid conical springs for easier fitment).

The sticking points with this setup are the brake fitment. Its a super tight fit in the rear because of the vibration dampening sections on the brake pads themselves. With Jake's car, the wheels just barely cleared the dampers with OE pads and EBC yellows, but they may hit and need trimming on your car. This is barrel clearance not spoke clearance so it wouldn't change with a spacer.

These wheels clear the base 340mm Brembo brakes that the M235/240 comes with but they do not clear the 370mm 2NH/Msport Track handling/M Performance brakes.

Please let me know if you have more questions!

Thanks
-Tom
