Thermostat Hose Flange to Block
I removed the (2) 10 mm flange bolts which provides access to the Oil Cooler / OFHG bolt without issue. The flange was black on the outside and the part was unbroken. The seal was intact. However, inside the line appeared to be light brown and speckled with minor surface cracks. This part is know to fail and I plan on replacing the flange with an aluminum Rein flange from FCP Euro.
Pictured is the part after I removed it from the hose per Rein instructions. I recommend replacing this part as preventative maintenance & during WP/Thermostat R&R.
