Actually I did buy the extended warranty (100,000 miles or 6 years) at the time of original purchase. I think it cost me around $3,000. It gets more expensive the longer you wait.
I had a faulty front strut and the housing for the rear differential fluid was damaged. Both replaced under warranty free of charge less my $50 deductible.
