I put about 7K miles on these tires (Michelin PS A/S 3+, 235/40) on my previous wheels and about 1K miles on my new wheels, without any issues.
I'm sure that top of the tire does flex some when cornering hard. But as long as there is clearance when the vehicle is stopped, I don't think there is going to be any issue there. |
Ok, so you have seen no evidence of rubbing on the strut in all those miles and you running a 225/40 18" tyre on an ET40 offset, so fingers crossed it should be ok. I think I will go for a tyre without a rim protector to give a little more clearance 👍
