Answering mkoesel's question from the now closed thread:

F22 will start production using the current engines. However, it doesn't seem to be the long term solution, since the new engines will be introduced soon, likely alongside F20/F21 facelift. Still, it may only affect Europe, since the engines that the US gets may not be replaced right away. Right now, I can see that F30 LCI will get B-series engines across the board in Europe, but the US version will stick with N20/26. Also, for N55, only its M0 version (300hp one) already has B58 as the replacement, while O0 (320hp) doesn't. So, if BMW decides to use the same approach for F22, their US versions may have to carry on with N20/26/55 for a bit longer.
