If you can get away with a smaller spacer then that's definitely the way to go. Without added negative camber that would be best, otherwise if you can reach -2.0 using M4 LCA's or camber plates then you can clear the fender no problem with 235's even with the 10mm spacer.

Here's a 17x8.5 ET40 setup which I think is pretty solid if you're super worried about fender clearance. The take away on the 9" + wheels is typically that negative camber is required, weather minimal at -2* or more..
