I don't want rubber bands, but i do want them fairly small so I can lower car with the coil overs for the track.

I bought apex spacers. I’m going to run 235/40s square for 3 reasons...
1) I got a REALLY good deal on them
2) I wanted a slightly taller tire (a little more comfortable in the road).
3) it’s still a simple square set up that can be easily rotated for Xdrive cars.

When the 235/40s are done, I will likely replace them with a set of 245/35/18 Michelin PS4S (lightest option) or the wider 255/35/18 Michelin PS4S (slightly taller/heavier option). More likely than not, I’ll only run a 3mm front spacer, I’m targeting a flush/square tire look, plus I wanted the tire as centered as possible within the available space space, thus minimizing the rubbing issues down the line. Initially, I planned on running a square 18x9s set up, and while it’s entirely possible, it required more work than I wanted to deal with. The 18x8.5s with a higher et is just an easier solution for our cars, and it still allows you to run a square 245/35-255/35 set up.

In your case, the smaller 245/35/18 will probably be a good choice for your requirements. The combination of extra width and low overall height will be hard to beat, also there’s a few cars in this forum running that combination so it shouldn’t be hard to find pictures of it.
