I'd think about this from a different perspective: Whoever owned this beforehand spent $2-3k on a rather specialized performance part, so I'd assume that car was run pretty hard (I'd assume it was at least running a tune as well). To me, this is something I'd want to pay less for, not more - not a dealbreaker like a car that obviously was badly neglected or wrecked, but I'd assume that many of those miles on the odo were high-wear miles. I'd certainly be factoring in the cost of extended warranty, or quite cautious if that is not an option.
