Anyone else have this happen not sure if this is common or not for bmw as this is my first.

When I startup my car I’ll warm it up and wait usually till it drops to about 700. My problem is after I warm up the engine I’ll shut it off and turn it back on and it’s like I’ve never warmed it up. Idle is back to like 1500 as if it was a cold start and have to wait till it goes back down till I drive off.

This gets annoying typically at gas stations why I turn my engine off for couple mins and turn back on and gotta wait for idle to drop.

Was wondering if this is normal
