I have a 2015 Mazda 3 and a 2015 M235i. The HK in the M235i is better, but from what I remember from my test drives, the "normal" audio in the 2 series (at least as it existed in 2015) is not as good as the Mazda 3, IMO. And my Mazda 3 doesn't even have the Bose audio.
But, you really should listen to them both. Sucks that you now have to get the Premium package to get HK. I have HK, but not the premium package and am still happy with that decision. Not sure what I would do if I had to pony up an extra $800.
