Kudos for your efforts. I think you may have answered the question that no one has asked.
My thoughts are, I wonder if it's too short to be functional and, I wonder if it would hold under pressure since you cut and sewed it yourself?
If it's just for a look then it's cool, but if you track your car I think you should test it. Hopefully you already have.
