Yeah I’m sure a BMW sound expert tuned the generator diameter (or maybe just made it as big as possible to fit) then experimented with some different foams till he got the best balance of deep Induction sound without injector ticking.

I Put a 24ft (7.32m) pipe from my sound generator out the hood down the side of the car and fed it into the drivers window. The diameter was half inch larger than the original sound generator pipe.
It sounded awesome just like the videos on YouTube of people removing the foam from their Z4 pipe.

Maybe a smaller pipe / smaller hole will reduce lower frequencies, who knows? Maybe I’ll hear more injector tick. I don’t really mind as long as I can hear some more engine sound along with it
