Hi,

Over the past week my 2005 E90 330D has developed an intermittent clunk sound coming from the rear driver's side wheel area that happens over the odd bump and sometimes immediately after braking, as though something were hitting the bodywork. Handling feels a bit skitty and 'bouncy' after driving it today for a few miles. Coming back I noticed that the gap between the wheel and arch is a couple of inches lower than the other side.

Having now taken the wheel off I can see the lower part of the suspension has cracked/severed, please see attached images. What part exactly is this and how tricky for a garage to fix?
