For the people crying that 80k is high, let me chime in.
I bought my 2016 M235i w/ 74k miles for $26k otd. It came with H&R lowering springs, exhaust and it may or may not have had a tune. (i ended up tuned on bm3 by my own decision anyway)
I searched for a while before making my decision. Sure, some areas of the US will have different prices and that's something most people here are forgetting.
From what I have seen, that's about where it will be from any dealer.
Private party may save you some coin, but you'll need the cash upfront or cashiers check to go that route...then add on the travel costs to fly across country plus driving or shipping back...you'll be right back where you are in total anyway. May as well save yourself the hassle and get it where you live..
I've had the car for 1 1/2 years. Already drove 20k+ miles, currently have 94k miles; which is more than most people drive this car during their ownership time anyway. (I've read many many posts about barely driving the car 3k miles a year or some crazy thing like that)
I drive hard and fun, plenty of pulls, drifts & donuts. 0 issues.
This is what I have done :
Maintenance:
-Chargepipe
-coolant over flow hose
-belt and tensioner
-cabin air filter
-spark plugs
Mods :
-Intake
-Chargepipe
-turbo inlet (have yet to install, sitting in my closet)
-BM3 stage 1 tune
It's been like this for most of my ownership.
I will agree, the Mazda 6 is a fantastic car for the money. Great looks inside and out, lightweight with nimble handling, super reliable and if you get a late model year it also comes with a turbo.
Though, it can't hang with the M235i in any performance metric.
Use this info as you will...
